Our client in the finance industry is currently looking for an Accountant to support their growing business. This position is based in Sandton. Duties include, but are not limited to:?

• Preparing financial statements like balance sheets and income statements to gauge an organization’s financial health and measure performance
• Calculating taxes, ensuring regulatory compliance, filing tax returns, and providing tax planning advice
• Conducting internal or external audits to ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with accounting rules
• Helping make budgets and financial forecasts to guide business decisions
• Analyzing financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for growth
• Ensuring recorded financial transactions are correct and fixing discrepancies
• Giving financial advice to management and suggesting improvements to financial processes
• Adapting with evolving industry standards and emerging technology trends, including changing tax laws or new accounting software
• Full bookkeeping function
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and provide balance sheet analysis.
• Identify areas of improvement of business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist with tax audits and, where applicable, prepare tax returns.
• Perform quarterly tax effect accounting.
• Assisting with annual audit preparations.
• Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
• Preparing financial analyses and reports.
• Ensuring the general ledger is perfectly maintained.
  

Requirements

• Finance or Accounting Degree or similar.
• SAICA , SAIPA or related articles completed.
• Must be registered as a Tax Practitioner
• Minimum 7 years experience
• Experience in leading or managing a team.
• Financial Reporting and Audit experience required.
• Experience in Statutory Returns
• ERP Systems experience
