This job is offered as Full-time or Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract Pay: £12.12-£12.62 per hour.
It will involve providing care, in community and in peoples own homes so you will need to have a full UK drivers license and own a car.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Uphold Choices Homecare’s vision, values, and behaviour framework
- Deliver personalised services in accordance with each service user’s Personal Support Plan
- Support service users in achieving their desired outcomes while promoting independence, dignity, and integrity
- Provide assistance with personal care tasks, including dressing, bathing, continence care, medication management, and manual handling
- Ensure respect for service users’ autonomy and preferences
- Monitor and maintain the health, well-being, and mobility of service users
- Support service users in managing their domestic tasks and personal resources
- Provide specialised care to clients with specific needs based on your skills and qualifications
- Minimise risks to yourself and the service user during emergency situations
- Promptly report accidents or incidents in accordance with Choices Homecare’s policies
- Assist service users in maintaining adequate nutritional status and hydration
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and comfort in the service user’s home by assisting with domestic tasks
- Encourage and facilitate service users’ active participation in the local community
- Assist with errands such as shopping, bill payment, and collecting pensions or benefits
- Support service users in maintaining relationships with family, friends, and their wider social network
- Foster effective communication and relationships with service users and colleagues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including care plans, in a timely manner
- Ensure confidentiality of service users’ information in compliance with the Data Protection Act and Choices Homecare’s Confidentiality Policy
- Contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse
- Attend meetings to enhance the effectiveness of care delivery
- Undertake necessary training to enhance job performance and address any identified training needs
- Good level of literacy and ability to understand and follow instructions and policies
- Initiative in dealing with emergencies
- Strong communication skills
- Common sense and ability to work independently
- Willingness to undertake and benefit from training
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Good numerical skills
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Every weekend
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
- Weekends only
Requirements
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Previous caring experience in a personal, voluntary, or professional capacity
- Training in Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, First Aid & Moving & Handling
- NVQ Levels 2&3 in Care
- Possession of a driver’s license and use of own car with relevant insurance
