Role Purpose

The Head: Responsible Investing will lead the strategic integration of responsible investment practices of Momentum Investment Group (MIG) with a strong influence across the Momentum Group (MG) environment. They will ensure that all investment activities align with the company’s commitment to responsible investing and contribute to long-term value creation for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree with a specialization in Finance, Sustainability, or related field
  • 5-8 years’ experience in financial services as a Responsible Investing specialist that included the development and implementation of responsible investing strategies.
  • Proven track record in investment management with a focus on Responsible Investing, ESG and Sustainability.
  • Familiarity with global sustainability standards and frameworks essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful development and implementation of the responsible investing strategy and policy for MIG.
  • Proactively partner with and influence the overall Sustainability strategy and framework within MG, whilst ensuring alignment of same to MIG.
  • Effectively contribute to the creation of sustainable investment products that meet the evolving needs of our clients and the market.
  • Ensure the effective representation of MIG at various forums both internally and externally.
  • Support the strategic integration of ESG considerations into core investment decision making and processes, whilst coordinating the measurement of effectiveness and efficiency continuously.
  • Ensure the proactive engagement with investee companies, stakeholders, and industry bodies to advocate for and drive sustainability performance and responsible investing best practices.
  • Influence decision-making through delivering on insightful reports that transparently communicate impact and progress to stakeholders and executive management.
  • Proactively influence decision-making through depth in understanding of global trends, regulatory changes, and innovations in responsible investing to ensure our strategy remains innovative.
  • Develop processes and practices that ensures the effective identification, assessment,and management of ESG risks across the investment portfolios.
  • Effectively build and lead a high-performing team dedicated to responsible investing, fostering a culture of excellence, ethical conduct, and continuous learning.
  • Proactively manage talent through the employee lifecycle to ensure retention and growth within the team.
